Since I moved into the 420 class, sailing the 470 was always a dream. Luckily, in 2015, my parents bought me a 470, and with the news that the 2016 Worlds were happening in Argentina, I started sailing the boat to participate in the event.
With almost no training, I competed in the Worlds, where I fell in love not only with the boat but also with the professionalism of all the teams. I learned the importance of planning, having the boat in perfect condition, and working hard and seriously.
After the Worlds, I continued racing in the 470. In 2017, I competed in the South American Championship and other regattas in Brazil. In 2018, I raced in the Junior Worlds in Italy, where I finished first in the silver fleet. Although I continued sailing locally as a sparring partner for the ladies' team that went to the Tokyo Olympic Games, I lacked motivation.
However, in 2023, I decided to start sailing again in the new mixed format. My new crew and I trained a bit and decided to compete in the 2024 Worlds in Palma. We also participated in the French Olympic Week, where we felt comfortable with the boat and excited to be competing again.
We plan to continue competing in the class and aim for a spot in the 2028 Olympic Games.
